NEET Not Mandatory to Study MBBS in Bangladesh

Candidate now NEET 2018 score will no longer consider and they are free to enroll in MBBS in Bangladesh. In a landmark judgement by Judge S. RAVINDRA BHAT  and A.K. CHAWLA division bench on Thursday 27th September 2018.

In a twenty seven pages judgement Case Number W.P.(C)–8091/2018 

Having regard to the above discussion and the peculiar circumstances of the case, this court hereby declares that the petitioners are entitled to the same treatment as was given to those who did not appear in NEET; as a onetime measure, the respondents are directed to ensure that eligibility certificates are issued to all students who appeared in NEET (including the petitioners) but did not qualify the test. The MCI is also directed to ensure that consequential order and relief is given in the screening test regulations to those categories of students, entitled to the benefit of the present judgment; such consequential orders shall also be issued in respect of those covered by the previous two exemption notices (dated 23 rd April, 2018 and 14th September, 2018). The eligibility certificates shall be made available to such students, within one week from today, subject to such students complying with the formalities spelt out in the second notice (dated 14th September, 2018).

Earlier this month 14 September 2018 MCI stated it was giving a one-time exemption to those who did not register or appear for NEET 2018 and who wanted to study MBBS equivalent course abroad. These students need to furnish an undertaking that they had not registered or appeared for NEET 2018 to get the required eligibility certificate from the council. The notice further stated the council could verify from CBSE whether the undertaking was genuine or not. If found to be fake or false, appropriate action, including cancellation of eligibility certificate, would be taken against the candidate.

NEET exemption to Study MBBS in Bangladesh. Medical Council of India; Pocket -14, Sector -8, Dwarka, New Delhi -110077, has announced the decision of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, to grant a one-time exemption from the requirement of NEET, in respect of Indian Medical Aspirants, who had not at all registered for NEET 2018 and desire to take admission in MBBS or equivalent medical course in a medical university outside the country session 2018-19. To avail this exemption, the person should furnish an undertaking that he/she had not registered/appeared for NEET 2018 and that they will obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the Medical Council of India, prior to admission / joining the foreign medical institute. The Council may at its discretion verify from the CBSE whether such undertaking is genuine or not. In case, the undertaking is found to be fake/false/forged, appropriate action as permissible in law, including cancellation of Eligibility Certificate would be taken against such candidates. The decision is pursuant to the Order dated 30/08/2018 passed by the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi at New Delhi in WP(C) No.8091/2018, on the matter of grant of exemption from the requirement of NEET in respect of Indian Citizens who are desirous to take admission in MBBS or equivalent medical course in medical universities outside the country.
